Mavin partners with Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology

On October 6, 2025 in Hanoi, Mavin Group and the Institute of Biology – Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement. The event marks an important step toward linking scientific research with business, aiming for practical application and sustainable development.

Attending the ceremony were Prof. Dr. Chu Hoàng Hà – Vice President of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, leadership of the Institute of Biology, and scientists from the Academy. From Mavin Group, present were Mr. David John Whitehead – Chairman of the Board, Mr. Đào Mạnh Lương – CEO, and representatives from the Group’s leadership and management across its member companies.

According to the cooperation agreement, both parties will partner in research, technology transfer, experimentation, and the development of biological products applied in agriculture, especially in areas such as: breed selection, conservation and development of livestock genetics; application of biotechnology in husbandry, veterinary medicine and production of biological preparations; research and development of veterinary drugs, reverse genetic engineering, viral vectors, specific antibodies, and rapid disease diagnostics; application of microbiology, livestock waste treatment, and recycling of agricultural by-products toward circular, green, and sustainable agriculture.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. David John Whitehead, Chairman of Mavin Group’s Board, said: “With the desire to deepen the tie between research and practice, between science and business, I believe that today’s signing will open a new, effective, and long-term cooperative journey between Mavin and the Institute of Biology — together aiming for breakthrough achievements in biotechnology, biological drugs, and developing high-quality human resources for modern agriculture.”

Cooperation between a deeply research-oriented institute and a large agricultural and food corporation is a meaningful step for Vietnam’s agricultural industry and its community. This is not only a connection between knowledge and practice, but also an opportunity to realize the vision of building a sustainable agricultural ecosystem, reducing the use of antibiotics in animal husbandry, improving animal health, and contributing to ensuring food safety for consumers. For the first time, science and business have been closely connected on the foundation of comprehensive, long-term cooperation, sharing the common ideal of serving the community.
