On the morning of August 25, in Chieng Khoong Commune, Son La Province, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment Newspaper, in collaboration with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Son La Province, organized a Social Security Program in Son La Province 2026.
Mr. Cha A Cua, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Son La Province; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Cong, Vice Chairman of the Son La Provincial People's Committee; and Ms. Cam Thi Hong Duyen, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Son La Province and President of the Son La Provincial Women's Union, received a symbolic plaque for 10,000 breeding chicks and 2.5 tons of animal feed from a representative of Mavin Group, along with other agricultural supplies from accompanying enterprises, witnessed by Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Agriculture and Environment Newspaper Le Trong Dam.
At the program, Mavin Group donated 10,000 Mavin Dekalb Brown laying hens and 2.5 tons of animal feed to residents of Yen Son and Phieng Cam communes, with a total value of VND 200 million. Through this support, Mavin hopes that the chickens provided today will gradually become a source of livelihood, helping local households generate additional income in the future.
“Creating Livelihoods” Rather Than Providing Only Short-Term Support
For Mavin, the value of the program goes beyond the number of chickens and the amount of animal feed provided. More importantly, it lies in the potential for these initial resources to continue generating value long after the program has ended.
Mavin Dekalb Brown, a laying hen breed, was selected for the program to support the livelihood development goals of local households. With proper care, nutrition and disease prevention, the chickens can produce eggs on a regular basis, enabling households to supplement their families’ nutritional needs, generate additional income and gradually reinvest in poultry farming.
In addition to 10,000 chicks, Mavin provided 2.5 tons of animal feed. Mavin’s technical team also directly instructed farmers on coop preparation, equipment setup, chick brooding techniques, and vaccination schedules to ensure high survival rates and healthy development.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Thai – Business Director of Mavin Son La – stated: “The donation is only the initial step. What we truly hope to see afterward is a healthy flock with high survival rates, farmers gaining more breeding experience, generating income from their products, and being able to reinvest in subsequent batches. Only then will today's support truly deliver lasting value to the local people and the community.”
