Mavin launches solar energy project: A green transition milestone

Hanoi, October 7, 2025 – Mavin Group, a pioneer in Vietnam’s agri-food sector, officially launched its Solar Energy Project, reaffirming its strong commitment to green transition, carbon reduction, and sustainable agriculture development. At the event, Mavin signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with leading domestic and international renewable energy solution providers, marking a new phase in realizing its Green – Digital – Automated production model.

In 2025, Mavin will implement rooftop solar power systems at 15 feed mills and high-tech pig breeding farms nationwide. These systems, equipped with state-of-the-art technologies and internationally certified equipment from top global partners such as Trinasolar, Holcom, and Solis, are expected to generate 14.4 GWh annually. This will help reduce over 11,000 tons of CO₂ emissions each year while lowering operating costs and enhancing energy efficiency in livestock production.

Looking ahead, Mavin plans to expand solar energy systems across its entire network, while also piloting other green initiatives such as electric forklifts and circular economy models at its plants and farms – moving toward a zero-emission agricultural ecosystem.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. David John Whitehead, Chairman of Mavin Group, emphasized:

“For Mavin, sustainability is not just a strategic choice but a long-term responsibility to the community and the environment. The Solar Energy Project is a concrete step that demonstrates Mavin’s pioneering role in the green transition of agriculture. By collaborating with leading technology partners, we are committed to implementing the project in a professional, efficient, and sustainable manner, making a tangible contribution to Vietnam’s Net Zero goals.”

With over 20 years of development under the “From Farm to Table” integrated model, Mavin has remained steadfast in its sustainable growth orientation – improving production efficiency while ensuring environmental protection and creating positive impacts in the community. Since 2024, Mavin has been the first agribusiness in Vietnam to publish a full ESG Report aligned with international standards, enhancing transparency in environmental, social, and governance performance. Mavin also pioneered sustainable-linked financing (SLL) in Vietnam’s agricultural sector through cooperation with HSBC, paving the way for wider adoption of sustainable finance in the industry.

The Solar Energy Project is not only a technological advancement but also a clear testament to Mavin’s long-term vision and execution capacity in sustainability. As Vietnam’s agriculture continues its transition toward green, smart, and circular development, Mavin is proud to be among the pioneers applying renewable energy – shaping a future of eco-friendly agriculture aligned with the nation’s green transition and Net Zero 2050 goals.
