The program is part of the cooperation agreement between Mavin Group and World Vision Vietnam, aiming to support the livelihoods of people in some disadvantaged areas of Vietnam. Accordingly, in the 3-year period from 2022-2024, Mavin and World Vision Vietnam will jointly promote Vietnam's livestock industry with a livelihood support package worth USD 100,000.

The livestock breed selected to support the livelihoods of people in the program is Mavin Cherry duck, selected by Mavin Group from imported European breeds of Cherry Valley (UK). To ensure healthy ducks reach farmers, reducing losses during the handover process, Mavin has supported ducks up to 3 days old and made basic vaccines available. Before handing over to relatives, ducks are also closely monitored to ensure the best health, agility and uniformity.

The duck feed used is Mavin Benefeed bran, developed specifically for Cherry ducks, produced at Mavin Group's modern international standard animal feedmill. Vaccines and Veterinary Medicines are provided to the Program by Cai Lay Veterinary Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company, a member of Mavin Group.

Previously, in order to best prepare households for breeding techniques and conditions, Mavin surveyed the field and advised how to build barns, necessary equipment such as lights, feeders / drinking troughs, ... At the same time, Mavin has also cooperated with World Vision Vietnam to organize training courses, transfer breeding techniques to grassroots veterinary teams, World Vision's collaborators in the area as well as representatives of livestock households to support the breeding process of farmers to achieve the highest efficiency. During the entire breeding process of farmers until export, Mavin will also send staff to promptly support the difficulties and problems of the people and will also connect with traders to export and sell finished ducks most conveniently.

In 2022, the program has successfully supported 120 poor households in Thuong Xuan district, thereby helping them master broiler duck farming, improve livelihood circumstances, and provide better learning and living opportunities for children in the area. This model has been replicated by farmers by selling livestock, on the basis of breeding results, households contribute 10% of the total value of products sold to maintain production and expand to other livestock households in the area.

According to Mr. David John Whitehead, Chairman of Mavin Group, after many years of accompanying the implementation of livelihood programs, Mavin and World Vision Vietnam have not only helped farmers escape poverty but also helped them confidently maintain livestock production and develop the household economy. In this way, the program both helps farmers increase their income and helps them access effective breeding techniques and safe livestock products, thereby contributing to the sustainable development of Vietnam's agricultural sector.
