Mavin staff instructed the process of raising broiler ducks for poor households and veterinary teams in Thuong Xuan district

At the training session, technical team from Mavin trained and transferred broiler duck breeding techniques and procedures in each stage from duck pinch to slaughter. Livestock households are instructed on barn making techniques, how to crank ducks so that there is enough space, humidity and suitable temperature, barn cleaning, how to choose a barn placement ... for healthy growth of ducks. Livestock households are also trained in duck pinch techniques, duck care and nurturing such as: selecting ducklings, lighting and keeping ducks warm, building water troughs, feeders and feeding rations with the amount of bran suitable to each stage of development.

In particular, households have been instructed on how to mix bran with other materials such as corn, paddy ... to be able to take advantage of locally available agricultural by-products, reducing livestock costs. The part that is equally interested by livestock households as well as grassroots veterinary staff is the prevention of diseases in ducks, accordingly, Mavin staff pointed out common dangerous diseases in ducks as well as instructed veterinary drugs, vaccines to prevent and treat.

Mavin officials surveyed the actual housing conditions in some households

After being shared about breeding techniques, households and grassroots veterinary staff asked a lot of questions to Mavin staff to master more duck breeding techniques such as: how to prevent diseases effectively, how to keep ducks always clean, shiny feathers even though they are closed and do not have ponds,  How to crank in the upcoming summer weather,....

In order to best support farmers in Thuong Xuan, Mavin's technical staff also conducted practical surveys and directly guided some households so that they could better understand the breeding conditions: building barns, feeding troughs, drinking troughs,.. for maximum development of broiler ducks.

The training program is part of the Livelihood Support Plan of Mavin Group and World Vision Vietnam in Thuong Xuan district – Thanh Hoa province. Accordingly, in 2023, 120 poor, disadvantaged households and ethnic minority households will be funded with 12,000 breeding ducks, accompanied by nearly 50 tons of animal feed, veterinary medicine and especially trained and transferred by Mavin in broiler duck breeding techniques.

Throughout the breeding process from receiving ducks to selling, Mavin is also committed to accompanying, supervising to support and advise farmers in the most timely manner when there are any questions in breeding or problems about the health of ducks to ensure the best breeding results.
