From June 25 to July 9, 2026, Mavin Group, in partnership with World Vision International in Vietnam, successfully completed a livelihood support initiative by donating 26,000 Cherry Valley ducklings to 265 low-income households across eight communes in Thanh Hoa Province. The program aims to help local families develop sustainable livelihoods and improve their household income.
The initiative was implemented across three project areas—Nhu Xuan, Thuong Xuan, and Thach Thanh—as the next phase of the 2026 Livelihood Support Program, following a series of technical training sessions and the distribution of animal feed, veterinary medicines, and other essential farming supplies.

Under the program, 12,000 Cherry Valley ducklings were distributed to 120 households in the communes of Nhu Xuan, Thanh Phong, Hoa Quy, and Thuong Ninh; 8,000 ducklings were provided to 80 households in Tan Thanh and Luan Thanh; and 6,000 ducklings were delivered to 65 households in Thanh Vinh and Thach Quang. Notably, 2026 marks the first year that the Thach Thanh project area has joined the program, expanding support to more disadvantaged families across Thanh Hoa Province.
Beyond providing ducklings, the program adopts a comprehensive livelihood support model designed to help beneficiaries develop effective and sustainable duck farming practices. Each household received 80–100 Cherry Valley ducklings, along with essential production inputs, including animal feed, veterinary medicines, farming supplies, and technical training prior to receiving the ducklings. This integrated approach enables participating households to apply proper farming techniques from the outset, improving the likelihood of successful production.
To ensure the health and quality of the ducklings, they were brooded for three days and vaccinated against several common diseases before distribution. Mavin, World Vision International in Vietnam, and local community volunteers worked closely together to coordinate transportation and distribution, ensuring that the ducklings reached beneficiary households in optimal condition, even under challenging weather conditions.
Following the distribution, Mavin's technical experts will continue working alongside local authorities to monitor the farming process, provide technical guidance, and assist households in addressing any issues that may arise. This ongoing support is expected to help participating families gradually build sustainable livelihoods, increase their income, and improve their overall quality of life.
The year 2026 marks the ninth consecutive year of collaboration between Mavin and World Vision International in Vietnam in implementing community development initiatives. By combining technical knowledge transfer, production input support, and the provision of quality livestock, the program not only creates opportunities for households to strengthen their economic resilience but also contributes to building sustainable livelihood models that foster long-term stability for families and children in local communities.
