Mavin on strategic collaboration with Research Institute for Aquaculture No.1

On 21/11/2017, in Hanoi, Mavin Group Corporation and RIA1 have signed the Memorandum about the collaboration in research and development of aquaculture products.  Attending the Signing Ceremony, from RIA1 are Prof. Phan Thi Van, Head of the Institute along with leaders of other subdivions and centers. From Mavin, Mr David John Whitehead – Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr Dao Manh Luong – Chief Executive Officer with other department directors, attended the ceremony.

According to the Memorandum signed by Mavin and RIA1, both parties agreed to collaborate on: Research and development for Aquaculture breed; Implementation, trial and develop aquaculture products; implementation of international advance technology that support sustainable aquaculture…Morever, both parties agreed to co-promote aquaculture products which result from this collaboration.

On her speech at the Signing ceremony, Prof. Phan Thi Van, head of RIA1, expressed her impression on Mavin Group’s achievements in livestock and food processing field. RIA 1 are excited to work with Mavin in aquaculture to promote both parties’ advantages. Prof. Van also expressed that RIA1 are very willing to invite Mavin to participate in other RIA1’s aquaculture projects to help Mavin involve more in the field.

On behalf of Mavin, Mr. David John Whitehead, Chairman of the Board of Directors, shared some information about Mavin’s scale over Vietnam as well as Mavin’s projects on aquaculture. Mr. David also revealed that Aquaculture is the second spearhead that Mavin Group will focus in the upcoming years, behind livestock. “Mavin’s goals are in 5 years, become the leading business in aquaculture of northern area, including aquafeed and aquaculture (fresh water)”, said Mr. David.

RIA1, successor of the Fresh Water Fish Research Center, established in 1963 with the aim to research and develop fresh water aquaculture raising techniques, as well as investigate and evaluate the benefit and opportunity of fresh water aquaculture. Currently, RIA1 is a multifunctional center focus on research – promotion – training in aquaculture and maintaining the resources. Strategic collaboration with RIA1 will help Mavin in strengthening the research and development process about aquaculture, and shorten the time needed for Mavin to enter and capture market share.
