Ha Noi, May 19, 2025 – World Vision International in Vietnam and Mavin Group have officially signed a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), marking a new phase in their strategic partnership to improve livelihoods and nutrition for vulnerable communities through sustainable livestock farming models across Vietnam.
Mr. David John Whitehead, Chairman of Mavin, and Mr. Doseba Sinay, Country Director of World Vision Vietnam
Under the framework of this partnership, both parties commit to working together to improve the livelihoods of low-income households in various provinces. The cooperation will focus on enhancing livestock production capacity, increasing household income, promoting sustainable agricultural development, and contributing to social welfare in disadvantaged areas. The program is expected to empower the most vulnerable households to become more financially self-reliant and to work toward long-term income stability.

In 2025, the program will be implemented in three districts of Thanh Hoa province – Nhu Xuan, Thuong Xuan, and Quan Hoa – supporting 232 farming households through the following key activities:
- Technical Advice & Capacity Building: All 232 participating households will receive guidance on building proper duck housing and attend hands-on poultry farming training, with a focus on duck husbandry. These activities aim to equip farmers with knowledge and skills to apply sustainable and efficient livestock models.
- Livestock, Feed & Veterinary Support: Each household will receive a share of 22,160 high-quality day-old ducklings. Mavin will also provide veterinary medicine, nutritional and feed additive consultation, and regular technical follow-ups to minimize disease risk and ensure healthy flock development.
- Market Access & Consultation: Mavin will provide regular market information updates and offer pricing consultation to help farmers make well-informed decisions, increase their income, and improve their market competitiveness.
Mr. David John Whitehead, Chairman of Mavin Group, stated: "Mavin's relationship with World Vision International started with a small-scale livelihood program, but has now developed into a fully-fledged strategic partnership. This MOU sets our relationship for at least the next 5 years as we develop more ways of mutual cooperation into the future."
Mr. David John Whitehead, Chairman of the Board of Mavin Group, delivers his remarks
Mr. Doseba Sinay, National Director of World Vision International in Vietnam, said: "At World Vision, we believe that true, lasting change happens when communities are empowered with both knowledge and opportunity. This partnership with Mavin is not just about farming – it's about delivering hope and the joy of a meaningful future, where parents can care for their children, where every child has the chance to attend school, and families can break free from poverty. We remain committed to investing in the resilience and potential of every family we serve."
Mr. Doseba Sinay, Country Director of World Vision Vietnam, delivers his remarks
Since 2018, the livelihood support program for poor communities, jointly implemented by MAVIN Group and World Vision International in Vietnam, has continuously expanded in both scale and geographic coverage. The program has supported hundreds of low-income households in Thanh Hoa province through sustainable pig, chicken, and duck farming models. It has proven to be both effective and sustainable, making a significant contribution to improving livelihoods, increasing household income, and supporting the local poverty reduction process. This strong partnership has not only delivered tangible economic benefits to the community, but also laid a solid foundation for farmers to confidently master livestock production techniques, scale up their operations, and promote value chain-based farming models within their communities. Notably, the program has helped pave the way for a brighter future for women and children in disadvantaged areas.
