In livelihood support programmes, knowledge and production techniques play a vital role in enabling beneficiaries to develop sustainable income-generating activities and improve their long-term economic resilience. With this objective, Mavin Group and World Vision Vietnam have completed a technical training programme on commercial duck farming for 265 households participating in the 2026 Livelihood Support Programme in Thanh Hoa Province.
From 9 to 17 June 2026, training sessions were conducted across eight communes within three project areas in Thanh Hoa Province, namely Nhu Xuan, Thanh Phong, Hoa Quy, Thuong Ninh, Tan Thanh, Luan Thanh, Thanh Vinh and Thach Quang. A total of 265 beneficiary households participated, together with local veterinary officers, community facilitators and Mavin’s technical specialists.
During the training sessions, Mavin’s technical experts provided comprehensive guidance on commercial duck farming practices, covering all stages from brooding to market readiness. Topics included housing construction, farm sanitation, flock management and nutrition, disease prevention and the effective use of locally available agricultural by-products to improve production efficiency. Participants were also provided with duck farming handbooks to support the practical application of the knowledge gained throughout the programme.
In addition to classroom-based training, Mavin’s technical team conducted on-site assessments at participating households to evaluate farming conditions and provide tailored recommendations for improving housing facilities in line with each family’s circumstances. These activities help ensure that beneficiaries are fully prepared before receiving ducklings and programme support materials.

The year 2026 also marks the first participation of Thach Thanh District, including Thanh Vinh and Thach Quang communes, in the livelihood support programme jointly implemented by Mavin and World Vision Vietnam. This expansion provides greater access to suitable livestock farming models for disadvantaged households across Thanh Hoa Province.
Following the training and field assessment phase, the programme will continue with the distribution of animal feed, veterinary supplies and 26,000 Mavin Cherry ducklings to the 265 participating households. Mavin’s technical team, together with local facilitators, will continue to provide monitoring and technical support throughout the production cycle to help maximise the economic benefits of the model.
The year 2026 marks the ninth consecutive year of partnership between Mavin and World Vision Vietnam in community development initiatives. By combining material support with technical knowledge transfer, the programme aims to help disadvantaged households establish sustainable livelihoods, increase household income, improve living conditions and contribute to better care and opportunities for children in local communities.
