Wednesday, Oct 4,2017 - Consumers in HCMC now can track the origin of poultry meat and eggs sold at 1,750 supermarkets, traditional markets and grocery stores enlisted in the price stabilization program, said Nguyen Ngoc Hoa, deputy director of the municipal Department of Industry and Trade.

At the launch of the poultry meat and egg traceability program yesterday, Hoa said consumers can use a QR code scanner app, for example on Zalo, to get information about the breed, feed, farming, inoculation and processing. The TE-FOOD app can also provide addresses of outlets taking part in the program and warnings of unsafe eggs.
Traceable poultry meat and eggs are produced by Bel Ga, CP, Emivest, CJ, JapFa, San Ha, 3F Viet, Long Binh, Sagri, Binh Minh, Vinh Thanh Dat, Adeco, Ba Huan, Du Hoai, Bao Long, Dat Viet, Tien Hiep, Tan My Chau, Manh Thang, Pham Ton and An Long. As for duck eggs, only products of Vinh Thanh Dat JSC have been made traceable.
According to data of the HCMC Department of Industry and Trade, the city now has over 500 chicken and egg farms, 17 poultry slaughtering and packaging facilities, and nine egg packaging plants that have registered to join the traceability program.
The origin of poultry meat and eggs has been made traceable thanks to data, QR codes, cloud computing, traceability stamps, and management software.
