Training on Enhancing Awareness of Information Security and Cybersecurity

On May 23, 2024, in Hanoi, Mavin Group organized an internal training session titled "Enhancing Awareness of Information Security and Cybersecurity". The training program saw the participation of all Mavin Group employees, either attending in person at the headquarters in Hanoi or online via the Zoom platform.

Currently, numerous cyberattacks have occurred in Vietnam (such as those on VnDirect, PVOil...), causing damage to many related businesses. This poses a challenge for Mavin Group, a pioneering company in digitizing the agricultural sector in Vietnam, as all of Mavin's production data has been digitized and stored on the Cloud.

According to Mr. Nguyễn Anh Tuấn, Deputy General Director of Mavin Group, the risk of cyberattacks is no longer distant, especially since Mavin is using various digital software and applications in its operations, such as Porcitec, SAP ERP, HiStaff, E-learning... "Vietnam is currently the leading country in Southeast Asia for cyberattacks. The tactics for data hacking and fraud are very sophisticated nowadays; without vigilance, we could suffer significant damage both personally and as a business," Mr. Tuấn stated.

According to Dr. Phạm Duy Trung, a cybersecurity and information security expert from Hanoi University of Science and Technology and the training program's lecturer, cyberattacks top the list of current threats to state agencies, organizations, and businesses not only in Vietnam but globally.

"When a business ensures information security and provides security training, employees become more confident in using technology, knowing what to do and not to do to protect themselves and the company; the corporate culture improves, and employees know how to support each other in using technology safely; it saves costs for the business and helps minimize data breaches from the user side; it also saves time and enhances security," Mr. Trung emphasized the importance of security and ensuring information safety.

The lecturer also analyzed several notable attack scenarios in Vietnam and worldwide, giving trainees a realistic view of hackers' sophisticated tactics. Trainees were also introduced to some information security solutions and instructed on information safety skills such as password security, safety when using personal computers, mobile devices, wifi, and safety when using email and social networks.

This is a topic of great interest and serious participation from Mavin employees. After the program, many questions were submitted to the lecturer for clarification regarding the training content, demonstrating the timeliness and urgency of the issues of information security and cybersecurity at Mavin.
