Thanh Hoa, November 27, 2025 – Responding to the call from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to support communities affected by recent storms and floods, Mavin Group, through the Thanh Hoa Red Cross Society, has partnered with World Vision International in Vietnam (WVI) to implement an emergency relief program for households impacted by Typhoon No.10 (Bualoi) in Thanh Phong Commune, Thanh Hoa Province.
The relief ceremony was held solemnly and meaningfully at the Thanh Phong Party Committee Hall, with the participation of representatives from the Thanh Hoa Red Cross Society, local Party Committee, People’s Council, and People’s Committee of Thanh Phong Commune, senior leaders from World Vision International in Vietnam, and particularly 115 affected households. These beneficiaries include poor and near poor families, households with elderly people, children, pregnant women, and families whose homes were washed away, damaged, or severely impacted by the typhoon.
Mavin’s relief package for Thanh Phong Commune consisted of 4,686 essential canned food items including pâté, canned meat, tuna, and sterilized sausages, with a total value of over VND 125 million. These items were selected to ensure nutritional adequacy, ease of storage, and suitability for households recovering from natural disasters.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Lê Xuân Hảo – Vice Chairman of the Thanh Hoa Red Cross Society – expressed deep appreciation for the timely and meaningful support from Mavin Group and WVI, emphasizing that this assistance provides vital encouragement to help residents overcome hardship and stabilize their lives after the storm.
Representing Mavin Group, Mr. David John Whitehead, Chairman of the Board, attended the ceremony, offered words of encouragement, and personally presented the relief gifts to affected households. Chairman David expressed heartfelt sympathy for the difficulties and losses faced by communities in Thanh Phong and Tân Thành communes, as well as many other regions nationwide following consecutive storms and floods.
“As a long term investor in Thanh Hoa Province with high tech livestock projects, Mavin Group has been accompanying the locality in promoting socio economic development and advancing sustainable agriculture. We are also committed to actively participating in social welfare and livelihood recovery programs for the community”, he affirmed.
On behalf of World Vision International in Vietnam, Ms. Thân Thị Hà – Strategy, Program Quality & Resource Development Director, highly appreciated the strong and enduring partnership between WVI and Mavin Group over the past eight years in delivering humanitarian initiatives to communities in Thanh Hoa. “We are delighted and deeply grateful to join hands with Mavin Group in bringing essential food items to impacted households in Thanh Phong commune. We firmly believe that, under the leadership of Thanh Hoa provincial authorities, the coordination of the Provincial Red Cross, and the collaboration of the Thanh Phong Commune Project Management Board, these meaningful gifts will serve as a source of support, helping thousands of families overcome hardships and quickly stabilize their lives,” said Ms. Ha.
This program is part of a VND 250 million international emergency aid package implemented jointly by Mavin Group and WVI to support households in Tân Thành and Thanh Phong communes recovering from Typhoon No.10. Following the ceremony in Thanh Phong, Mavin and WVI will continue with a second relief distribution event in Tân Thành Commune on December 5, 2025.
The initiative forms part of Mavin Group’s broader Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts in Thanh Hoa Province, where the Group has long been involved in impactful community programs such as: Livelihood support for impoverished households through value chain based poultry and livestock projects in partnership with WVI; Tet gift distributions for disadvantaged families; Back to school support including scholarships and educational gifts for children; Collaborative programs that promote sustainable agricultural development at the local level.
