Mavin to support livelihood for poor people in Ben Tre

In October and November 2018, Mavin Group cooperated with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) to give 10 tons of animal feed to poor farmers who had been affected by drought and salt intrusion for El Nino in Ben Tre province.

The program was implemented in Giong Trom district (65 households in Tan Thanh commune, 70 households in Hung Phuong commune), Ba Tri district (Ba Tri commune for 68 farmers, An Ngai Tay commune for 67 farmers), Binh Dai distric (Binh Dai Town for 85 farmers, Dai Hoa Loc commune for 50 farmers). Each poor farmer was given 20 ducks and 25 kg of duck feed.

This is the next stage of the Livelihood Support Project for poultry farmers and poor farmers due to droughts and salt intrusion due to the impact of El Nino, which has been launched since December 2017. Prior to that, Mavin had assisted poor people in the central provinces including Dak Lak, Gia Lai, Ninh Thuan.

The project contributes to the improvement of knowledge for local officials and farmers in techniques of raising chickens, ducks and practicing techniques for natural disaster prevention and adaptation to climate change.
