Mavin Pig Farms Achieve Global GAP Certification (S.L.P Version)

In November 2024, a significant milestone was achieved when two of Mavin Group's pig farms, located in Anh Son District, Nghe An Province, and Kbang District, Gia Lai Province, were officially certified with Global GAP (Good Agricultural Practices) S.L.P (Smart Livestock Production) standards by Bureau Veritas (BV), a globally recognized certification and inspection organization.

To attain this prestigious certification, the farms underwent a rigorous evaluation process. Independent experts conducted a comprehensive review of every stage in the production chain, from breeding stock, feed, housing conditions, to hygiene protocols, waste management, and biosecurity measures. Each criterion had to meet the stringent requirements of Global GAP S.L.P, one of the world’s most reputable standards for good agricultural practices.

This achievement is the result of Mavin's relentless efforts to establish a modern, sustainable, and internationally certified-livestock production system.

The Global GAP S.L.P standard, an advanced iteration of the Global GAP 5.2 version, sets extremely strict requirements for livestock farms. To be certified, pig farms must satisfy a series of stringent criteria, including Water and feed quality, Housing conditions, Animal welfare, Hygiene and biosecurity, Waste management, Veterinary drug management and Social responsibility.
Obtaining the Global GAP S.L.P certification is a significant accomplishment, reaffirming Mavin Group’s pioneering position in Vietnam’s livestock sector. It underscores the Group's leadership in adopting international standards and modern technologies while committing to environmental protection, animal welfare, and sustainable development.

Comprehensive Inspections Conducted by Global GAP Auditors

Notably, with the Global GAP S.L.P certification, Mavin's pork products are globally recognized for quality and food safety, meeting the stringent requirements of both domestic and international markets. This achievement aligns with Mavin’s ultimate goal of providing clean, safe meat for consumers' health.

The certification also marks a key milestone in Mavin's "green transformation" journey, contributing to Vietnam’s roadmap to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.

Throughout this journey, Mavin has undertaken numerous concrete actions to minimize environmental impact across its production and supply chain. These include sustainable waste management, efficient energy and resource utilization, continuous monitoring, and improvements in production operations.

Specifically, 100% of Mavin's pig farms have transitioned to biogas energy for production, with livestock waste being recovered and processed into organic fertilizers for crops. Advanced, eco-friendly production technologies include: Automated feeding and drinking systems that reduce feed waste and labor costs, Bulk feed transport using tank trucks directly filling silos, saving tens of billions of VND annually in packaging costs and Centralized cooling systems that optimize energy consumption and reduce water usage for cooling livestock housing.

Exploring Circular Agriculture Models for Zero-Waste Operations

Additionally, Mavin’s farms utilize centralized management software like SAP ERP and cloud-based technologies, providing real-time data insights for timely planning and decision-making.

Mavin is also exploring the application of circular agriculture models at its pig farms to reduce emissions and increase sustainability. This includes: Advanced "full-floor" housing systems designed for zero waste, disease prevention, and water conservation, Waste treatment processes that comply with biosecurity regulations, mitigating sources of infection, odor, and pollution and Conversion of pig waste into organic fertilizers, returning vital nutrients to the soil depleted by farming activities.
