Mavin to accelerate the consumption of agricultural products

Responding to call of Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan, Mavin Group has joined hands to consume nearly 20 tons of Japanese purple sweet potatoes of Phu Long and Hoa Tan communes, Chau Thanh district, Dong Thap province.

All products will be used as gifts for employees of Mavin Group at offices, factories and farms across the country. The product has been promptly harvested by Chau Thanh farmer and handed over at Mavin Dong Thap factory according to the order, the product is also pre-cleaned and packaged in a quantity of 10kg/bag, ensuring the best quality when delivered to Mavin's staff.

With this program, Mavin wish to contribute to asist Dong Thap farmers to consume agricultural products and also join hands to spread the value of Chau Thanh - Dong Thap agricultural products to people across the country.

According to information from Dong Thap province, by the beginning of June 2021, the total area of Japanese purple sweet potato in Chau Thanh district still in unharvested fields is more than 266 hectares with an output of over 8,000 tons. Due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, the consumption of potatoes is facing many difficulties, the selling price cannot cover the costs, traders buy very small quantities. The local government has also called on individuals, organizations and businesses to accompany farmers to accelerate the consumption of agricultural products and share difficulties with farmers.
