The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development visit Mavin’s farm

On October 16, 2019, high-level delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development led by Minister Nguyen Xuan Cuong, along with Hung Yen's leaders including Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Do Tien Sy, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Phong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Quang, visited Hung Viet Nuclear Swine Breeding Farm of Mavin Group (Khoai Chau, Hung Yen).

Meeting with the delegation, Mavin Group CEO Dao Manh Luong gave a quick presentation on the operation of the Mavin Group, swine breeding scale and especially the three-layer solution to protect Mavin pigs against ASF - Mavin is one of the few companies that has maintained and preserved the pig herd in the context of the African Swine Fever.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister Nguyen Xuan Cuong praised Mavin's achievements in many aspects: maintaining herd stability, adapting to disease conditions and livestock development strategies. The Minister affirmed that Mavin is an important nucleus to help promote and restore Vietnam's livestock industry.

Regarding Mavin's pig raising activities, the Minister asked Mavin to take measures to protect and maintain the breeding herd of GGPs, GPs and sows, and maximum multiply the commercial herd.

For the results of the biosafety process application and the 3-layer solution of pig herd protection, the Minister asked Mavin to summarize the process to expand the scope of application and supply to the market. In the long term, Mavin needs to coordinate actively, providing scientists to successfully research the vaccine against African swine cholera.

In addition, the Minister encouraged Mavin to have production solutions to provide equipment and supplies for livestock farmers, especially the need to promote food processing performance as well as consider to invest in a modern slaughter plant in the near future. Minister also suggested Mavin continue to develop other breeding species such as poultry, waterfowl and aquatic products to contribute to protein diversification.

In response to the Minister's direction, Mavin’s CEO affirmed that this is a guideline for Mavin's upcoming activities, because Mavin's motto is to build a sustainable development of Vietnam's agribusiness. Mavin leaders also pledged that Mavin will make every effort to contribute to stabilizing the market.
