Mavin on strategic collaboration with Research Institute for Aquaculture No.2

In Hanoi, on 10 April 2018 - Mavin Group and Research Institute for Aquaculture II (RIA 2) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in research and product development for aquaculture. The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Nguyen Van Sang, Director of RIA 2 and Mr. David John Whitehead, Chairman of Mavin Group.

According to the MOU signed between Mavin and RIA 2, the two sides will cooperate in: Research and Development of aquatic breeds; Research and Development in aquaculture products; Research, Development and Application of advanced aquaculture technologies towards sustainable aquaculture development;

At the signing ceremony, Mr. David John Whitehead shared the Mavin Group's vision for aquaculture development: "Aquaculture is the second core business of Mavin Group beside swine business and will be promoted in the coming years to become the leading company in the North for both fresh water aquafeed and aquatic breeds".

RIA 2 is under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and has the function of conducting scientific research, technology transfer, training, international cooperation, consultancy and services on resource conservation and development for fisheries; raising; processing in southern provinces.

Previously, on November 21, 2017, Mavin Group also signed a cooperation with Research Institute for Aquaculture I (RIA 1) to research and develop freshwater aquatic species. Continuing cooperation with RIA 2 will add to Mavin's research and development capabilities in the southern regions, helping Mavin realize the goal of closing the "From Farm to Table” supply chain in the field of aquaculture.
