The historic typhoon Yagi and its aftermath have caused significant damage, with over 3,700 aquaculture cages destroyed or swept away; more than 26,000 livestock and over 2.9 million poultry have died. The losses to the agricultural sector due to the storm and flooding are immense, leaving farmers facing compounded difficulties.
In response to the directives from the Prime Minister regarding immediate measures to address the aftermath of Typhoon No. 3, as well as the urgent call from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to restore livestock and stabilise production, Mavin Group has launched practical support programs for farmers in the heavily impacted provinces and cities:
- Material Support: Mavin provides 5,000 bottles of disinfectant to assist farmers in sanitizing their livestock shelters post-flood (for customers purchasing feed from Mavin Austfeed Factory in Hung Yen).
- Cash Support: Financial assistance will be provided to farmers for repairing shelters and restoring production, based on direct assessments of damage incurred by customers in the regions directly affected by the storm and flooding.
The total budget allocated by Mavin Group for the recovery and restoration of livestock, as well as the rebuilding of production after Typhoon No. 3, including both material and cash support, amounts to 908,750,000 VND.
Understanding the hardships faced by farmers in the disaster-stricken provinces, Mavin has closely monitored the situation since Typhoon No. 3 made landfall, standing by its customers with practical actions such as: offering encouragement and support; providing essential goods to severely affected farmers; and coordinating assistance for recovery efforts.
Mavin Supports Farmers by Providing Essential Goods in Flood-Affected Areas
Immediately after the storm passed, Mavin representatives visited the affected provinces and cities to personally encourage and support farmers in the storm’s aftermath. Mavin continues to accompany its customers in the cleanup and repair of livestock shelters, sharing their challenges to help farmers quickly stabilize their lives and resume livestock production.
